Case at the Edge of the Woods
On a cold autumn evening in 1932, Bloom Police Station receives an incoherent telephone call from the Kendrick Residence on 32 Wolfe Road. Inspector James Buchanan and his eager colleague, Constable Basil Johnson arrive at the scene. Upon their arrival, Eddie Kendrick, World War I Veteran and Warden for Riding Mountain National Park is found dead, with a gun-shot wound to the back. His wife, Mary-Ann Kendrick is shot in the calf, overwhelmed with the night’s events.
A house-call soon becomes a murder investigation and given the nature of the crime, the whole town becomes woven into this tragedy. Inspector Buchanan, along with Constable Johnson, must unravel this mystery before the killer strikes again.
“Case at the Edge of the Woods” has been adapted from the true story of the cold case surrounding the murder of Park Warden Lawrence Lees from 1932.
